Multilayered objects and vases
I carve through the outer layers so the viewer can see what lies beneath the external shell. It may feel like witnessing an embryo evolving inside the seed or womb, a heart beating within a ribcage, or an inner child hidden beneath the layers of an adult personality. With these pieces, I explore themes of containment, protection, and the relationships between inner core and outer form - or between multiple layers and forms. This also reflects my personal experience of pregnancy and my perception of the body as a vessel where new life takes shape.
